A Cushion for Maddie

I saw this cushion on Pinterest and just had to make one for my sweet little grandaughter in Virginia.

I first traced and cut out the letters and appliqued them onto cream fabric using my heat bond method,
it makes life a whole lot easier when machine stitching. I then hand quilted around each letter to make them pop out.

Then this panel was stitched to the lilac ginham fabric, which is also used for the back of the cushion cover. She just loves butterflies so stitched this little one right in the corner for her.

Shabby chic Hanging Peg note holder

A hanging Peg holder, handy for the notes etc anywhere in the home. This is a hessian covered board with vintage lace and little pegs. I have used rusty wire to hang it up with.

Get Well Tissue box gift.

I had to make a little box for the travel tissues to go inside. I searched but finally had to make this myself. After a couple or three trial runs, came up with this one.

Its nice to give a relative, friend or neighbour this along with a little card just to say they are thought about when not feeling well.

Post card Pin cushion

I made this cute little pin cushion from calico and stamped the vintage postcard image onto the front. Then I added a little piece of scrap "Home Sweet Home" ribbon with a pearl button. The edges are frayed a little after machine stitching it all together.

Sister 70th Book card

My lovely sister will be 70 this week so had to make a special card for her to keep.
The base of the 'book' card is made from heavy cardboard which I covered with old book pages and modge podged to seal. Then I used some satin sheen paper and stamped all over with butterfies and scrolls using Tim Holts antique linen.

Next the tag was added all dressed up with some lace and silk flowers, then I tied on a pearl button and siver charm, as she loves to visit her friends in France this came in handy.
