Aunt Box card

I have made this cute little box card for my Aunt who is 86 in May.

She loves yellow roses so thought I might make this box card from a template by Rica's Haven
She gives all the measurements to make this cute card so pop along to her blog.

I added some printed pages to the inside of the box sides as I wanted it mainly to be white with a touch of vintage. Added a lace border on two sides just visible.

18th Birthday Book keepsake

Our Grandson Ben is 18 next week, my how time has flown by. Anyway I thought I should make a special card for him to keep. I had this old book which was going to the charity shop. First I tore out the pages and used the lovely hard cover as my starting point. I added thick card strips and some twine to make the cover more interesting.

The whole thing was then covered with glue and tissue paper and left to dry as in the picture above.
Then I painted the outside with dark blue paint and added some gold paint on top of that, then glued the button onto the centre, varnishing it all to make it durable. On the inside I covered this with some lovely card which has old maps printed on. As he is in the Army I thought this would be appropriate as he will be travelling all over after he has finished his training in the Royal Signals.
Inside I made the faux book pages box in which to put the message and on the left cover I made a little envelope to pop in some money. I had this tiny little key so attached it to a tag with a verse and this will go into the pocket also. The verse says : This little key opens our hearts that are bursting with love & pride for our grandson Ben on his 18th wishing you a wonderful day Happiness always.

Re-cycled record

A birthday card for our Grandson who is singer & guitarist in a band called (sRs).
Jak is 12 and a fantastic vocalist.
I had this special card in my mind.... well I found these old vinyl records in charity shop, so decided to make use of one for this occasion.
I put together a collage pic. of the band along with other digital images and a little greeting all done in Microsoft Publisher then printed this off onto sticker paper.

A whole new life for this little record!

And on the flip side is the verse.

Now am off to make the sleeve and stand for this project.

Faux Book. 60th Birthday Keepsake Card

 A special Keepsake Birthday Card.
Reaching the 60th birthday is special, so had to make this for a friend. I had all these lovely papers in my stash left over from another project.  I printed off an image of a vintage clock face, glued it onto thick card, then cut it out and popped it onto the front, stamped a butterfly in brown ink and then embelished with tiny flowers and the sentiment.
I love these little (book) cards, they are so versatile and inside you can even put a little gift if needed....

I didn't ... I just added  a little verse and then put it onto a card, raised it onto foam mounts making it pop out. Then I decorated it with a flower spray and a tiny butterfly. Not too fussy! Sometimes I think less is more.

Hope she likes it... Hugs Vee x

Belated Birthday

Oops! I forgot a Birthday card this week for someone.... he always sends me a calendar and diary at Christmas, so I felt soooo bad. Quickly did this card just to say sorry. I had this printed image of "April in Paris" music and since he loves all things French, had to use it.
Just hope he forgives me lol!
I saw a similar card somewhere a long while ago and remembered just in time, as I was thinking of what to do. Have you ever had times,( I am sure you all must have,) when nothing...no ideas...no matter how hard you try... the old brain goes into sleep mode... well this is what is happening to me at the moment. Don't know what is wrong but one minute all's well, then BLANK!
I am assuming it's all because we have just moved home and downsized, so have been finding it very difficult to find an appropriate space to do my crafts as we have lost a room. At the moment I have my stuff in every nook and cranny and I have to think, Where is this! Where did I store that! Oh am not a happy camper. Then there is the added problem of Hubby's hobby to also consider ( thinking about putting him in the shed) shhh! his guitars, amps., mixer desks, are cluttering up the rest of the floor space. ( Anxiety Attack) .....Phew! well off to take a tablet hehe. Bye for now.

"Grandson" Birthday card

This is a cute old fashioned typewriter I found here.
I use her wonderful blog almost every day. It's amazing what you can find on there.

Anyway..... I used Publisher to position the typwriter onto the card and then when it was printed off,
cut a slit into the card and then popped in a small piece of paper with the words printed in an old typewriter font I found free on the net.

It's a very versatile card this. I will be using it more, just changing the greeting on the front.
I am not going to take credit for this card idea, as I saw one similar during one of my Marathon Pinterest visits last month. Honestly once on there, it takes over, nothing gets done in the house lol!

P.S. I have just found the blog from Pinterest I got this idea from.... Here she is...........
Go take a look.

Sister 70th Book card

My lovely sister will be 70 this week so had to make a special card for her to keep.
The base of the 'book' card is made from heavy cardboard which I covered with old book pages and modge podged to seal. Then I used some satin sheen paper and stamped all over with butterfies and scrolls using Tim Holts antique linen.

Next the tag was added all dressed up with some lace and silk flowers, then I tied on a pearl button and siver charm, as she loves to visit her friends in France this came in handy.

Birthday Card for Niece

Using up some more scraps I used my corner punch to round off two of the corners and layering smaller squares on top. I mounted them onto an ivory matt and then that onto a plain off white card. Not easy to see, but the smaller squares are kinda sticking out like petals on the outside edges. I popped on a button and a greeting and I think it's a speedy and easy little card.

Dear Aunt All white Birthday card

I had this in mind for our dear Aunt who is 86 in May. The all white
theme was inpiration from Pinterest. An o-so-easy little card to put together when your busy
doing other things, (if your like me) I have millions of projects on the go at the same time. Guess
it's the way of all crafters! You can't see on the picture really, but I used Linen look card and embossed and cut a small square to frame then used a daisy punch and added some little gold pearls to the centre of each flower.

Little Girls Chest of drawers card

Hello again.... I made this cute little "chest of drawers" for my granddaughter's 3rd birthday.
She loves her cats so I added a cute little cut-out that sits just inside the top drawer. A cheeky li'l mouse is "jumping"  up and down on the bottom of the drawers, looking like she is tormenting the ginger cat, Lol! These are so easy to make and decorate for any occasion.
I think I will make a grown up version the next time.
To get the illusion of legs, (as I dont possess spellbinders or any other cutting gadgets) I first punched out an opening at the bottom with a scallop square punch then took off the scallops at the top with my craft knife, but left the ones on the side.

Bye for now, I am off to continue with my Book project which I will post when its ready.

Vintage Daughter card

I used a lovely French Birth Certificate image I bought from here for a birthday card for Daughter.
I printed off a sentiment in different fonts and just added some lovely roses. I stamped a clock onto the certificate and embossed with gold powder, just barely visible and a little butterfly in black ink in the top left corner. A quick and easy card to put together.

Gone Fishing mans card

Using two great images from Graphics Fairy I put together this little card. Starting with navy card then an ice blue card mat. I had some book pages from another project I am currently working on, so used one on top of the ice blue. The fish images are stitched onto white card and a little tag with a brad is added to the bottom with the sentiment.

Hollywood Stars Birthday film roll

This is another T.Roll makeover. I made this for another of my daughters. All my daughters seem to love Hollywood film stars so it's easy for me to make these "Film Rolls" for their birthdays....

On the back of the roll I used vintage news print of the era I found on the internet, which fits in perfect with the theme I think.....

I have decorated with mulberry flowers and little butterfies.

On the top I have used a vintage brooch and lace. Am sure she will like it.

Alter It! Bloggers Challenge

An altered Roll in all it's glory! I made a Hollywood film roll for my daughter.
She loves the elegance of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn so I thought she would like this for her birthday.
First I covered the roll with a digi paper with a vintage looking print of cream roses on green background. Then punched out my film roll edges from black card and then added the photo's I had from stock and a little verse. Then I stuck the black card onto the prepared roll. Then it was ready to decorate.

I made two flowers using different techniques and added  these to the top of the roll and also added some Prima flowers to the back to add interest.

This is how it all began. Oh! what a transformation haha!

Special Birthday Card for Friend

A special birthday envelope card for 65th
Hand-made flowers in blue and green for the box and the envelope card. These are made by cutting circles, then cutting a spiral and finally, winding the spiral to form the flower. The leaves are made using my Martha Stewart punch and the lace edging is also from a Martha Stewart edge punch.

Inside I tucked the verse stuck onto the same card I made the flowers from just to co-ordinate.

'Elegant' Friend Birthday Card

'Make a wish' dandelion digi paper is used here. It's so light and delicate.
With a co-ordinating spot paper that forms a pocket at the bottom for the greetings tag
to be slipped inside. Edged with my Martha Stewart lace punch, and some cream lace underneath to add interest. Adorned with Mulberry flowers and tiny baby buttons.

Land of Liberty Challenge Lisa Somerville

For my dear Son-in-Law. A quick card made for his up and coming birthday. Easy as pie, this card flew out with a little flag I had in my stash from my visit to see them all just after Christmas this year. I got the digi papers from a site called No Reimer Reason.
This fitted in nicely for this challenge
