New Baby boy keepsake picture

Hi there, this is another new baby keepsake picture I have been asked to make this week.
This time for a baby boy. I made another tiny baby bootee and added a couple of little onesies, a little rattle and some bunting to decorate.

Inside the frame was decorated with spot paper to add some interest.
The babies name, date of birth, weight and time are all recorded for the future.

Wine wall sign.

s
A sign made for myself... a Shabby board with a cute sentiment.
I first painted the board ivory then the edges black. I applied some wax before I re-painted the ivory and then added the sentiment. Rubbed off the ivory around the edge to reveal the black. The effect I was looking for was a kind of metal background. Not sure if you think I achieved the look but.... hey! ho! I love it.
Then I sat down and had a glass of Chardonnay.. mmm nice one!

Jimmy Choos Door sign

This is another sign I have been asked to make this week.

A bit of bling on the Chandelier and at the corners just to jazz it up a bit.
Not a lot to add to this only to say I hope the customer likes it.

Re-purpose jam jar.

Hello again, this is not my usual post but thought I would just pop by to let you see
my little salad dressing jar.
I cleaned out a little jam jar, sterilised it, then painted the lid with blackboard paint and now I have a useful little shaker to mix my dressings in for my salads etc.
Ok.. I know, I know its not a new idea but I just love it when I can repurpose things that would normally be thrown out and sometimes we need a little reminder .....sorry the pic is a tad blurred, I can assure you sobriety prevailed haha!

Here is the recipe for the dressing I used, it comes from

The Hairy Dieters: How to Love Food and Lose Weight

One Tablespoon Red Wine Vinegar
1/2 crushed garlic clove
1/4 Teaspoon Dijon Mustard
1 Teaspoon Castor Sugar
Pinch of flaked sea salt and a couple of twists of black pepper.
Add 1 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

They say to mix with a whisk but no time to fiddle....
off you go and shake the jar ( lid on first) hehe!
Enjoy

Wooden Wall Hanging

Hi there ... I have been busy making wall hangings this last week and this is one I did for my Granddaughter who has just had a new carpet laid in her living/dining room.

Unfortunately the old one she chose was cream.....duh! this time she chose Black. She has a black Labrador and a new baby boy to contend with.. along with some lovely friends who are always dropping by.

She asked me to come up with a sign to let them know to remove their shoes haha....
Well just hope this works.
The wording says .. since little fingers touch our floor, Please remove your shoes, at the door!

Fingers and toes crossed!!

New Baby Gift

On Friday I got some lovely news from our dear friends that they had become  Grandparents for the first time to a lovely little girl Hanna Rose.
I thought I would make a little card for their daughter and son-in-law.....however I couldn't resist making them a picture  with the baby's particulars on and then it snowballed into making a little teeny shoe and here it is...

A  close-up of the smallest of shoes I have made to date. Boy! were my fingers getting in the way on this project haha!

Next I decided to put it into a shadow box frame so that they can keep it in the nursery.

I also decorated inside the box frame with a lovely pink rose paper as you can see.
I think it turned out great in the end apart from sore fingertips....

Lavender Cushion

Hi there...Sorry I have been neglecting my blog, but have been messing about doing much needed stuff in the house this month.
I just had to catch up with my chores lol
Plus the weather here in England has been so exceptional this year  I had to take advantage and try to make something out of the wilderness, laughingly called a garden here in the new cottage.
Now I have my water feature in situ I can relax and plan my next move..... Hmmm!... I think it's going to be a patio for my table and chairs. I don't think this year we will be having any barbeques but I can at least relax to the sound of trickling water and read my favourite mags.

Now this month I have a little granddaughter who is 8 yrs and she loves lavender so here is the little cushion I made her to take to bed.
I printed out a dandelion pattern onto calico fabric and then made a small cushion using some tiny flower print fabrics I had in my stash. Next I made a little heart and stuffed that also with lavender and tied it to the cushion with cotton heart ribbon and a little button.
Bye for now and hope to be on here more this month.

Home Sweet Home

We are getting new neighbours tomorrow!
A lovely young couple are moving in next door and they have been doing all the work themselves to make it a lovely home for themselves.
They are just 23 and 19 and are so sweet. I just had to make them welcome so made this little "Book" card for them and a little key ring gift to put inside.

Sympathy Cards

This is another Sympathy Book Card I have had to make this week.
It's not the nicest thing to have to make but I always like these book cards. I think they make a sad occasion that little bit more bearable for the recipient. This is the outside book cover and box.
Below, the inside of the book. Simple verses and with a little Lily to decorate.

Wedding Gift

Hello there!
I just had time to pop in today to show you a little wedding gift I made.
I bought a shadow box from Ikea and then printed the large initial
and added the names of the Bride & Groom and date of the Marriage. Gave it a little flourish at each corner then on the matt I added some roses in the theme colour of the wedding.
Not such an expensive gift and took only an hour of my time to make up.

Bye for now
