Shabby Chic Pillow

A project long overdue! I had this little pillow in mind for an age now and just had time to make it for a dear friend for her birthday this month.
The lovely French image is of course from my fav. http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com
The pillow was made up using a inexpensive calico fabric. I added some vintage lace and binding in cream and made a little flower from an offcut of the lace and attached a small pearl button.
Hope she likes it!!

Method
I used ordinary "Reynolds Freezer Paper" Plastic coated to get the image onto my fabric.
I ironed it onto my A4 paper  'plastic side down' lol! then trimmed my fabric to A4 size with a rotary cutter, making sure there are no frayed edges so as to catch on the printer rollers. Then sent it on it's merry way through the printer.
When it was done, I ironed the image with a hot iron to 'Set' the ink. I know there are products out there you can buy to spray onto the image to set it so you can wash the fabric, but I just use this method for now. Then you just peel away the paper from you fabric. This is much cheaper than buying fabric already coated for a printer, and you get the same effect. Good Luck Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

  2. Hi Vee - this pillow is just FABULOUS! What did you use to get the image on the fabric? Was it some sort of iron-on that you run through the printer?
